Rosie just called. Rodney is out of surgery and resting.
She just knows they took the upper left lobe of his lung out and some Nodes.
I think I understood right when she said, "The cancer was right behind his heart"
I may not have gotten the word to everyone to pray and I apologize for that.
Things have not been good around here.
I should have called.
Some of us have fresh memories of lung cancer and know how fast things can happen.
(Jeanette had lung cancer but she did NOT like to talk about it, only to me sometime and not often.) I think the COPD was the culprit in her dying although the heart just could not hold out while she tried to breath. It just quit.
OK enough of that.
We also know God can heal and all the cancer can now be gone.
For example.
Harold my brother, (in case some of you forgot) He is the quiet one.
He is a miracle.
He called Lou the other morning to say, "I went in for another check up and they are amazed I have no sign of cancer at all.
A few years ago, he was in bad shape.
Yes he still smokes but he is still here.
He still has his breathing machine day and night and he keeps it close by even when he goes to Mississippi to gamble.
So keep Rosie and Rod in your prayers. I know she is not well and I am concerned about her staying at the hospital day and night, but I would do the same thing.
When our family needs us, somehow, somewhere, God gives us strength to pull through anything.
Rest and falling apart will come later.
If only I were there to help out.
Lou is still recouping from knee replacement and Ed, who knows He is so private.
I just know he has a hard time walking, I saw the slow steps and pain in his face.
He just never says he has a problem.
Roy he is Roy, he called last night and we had a good laugh and he sang to me.
"Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas tree," over and over.
Those were the words to the song, nothing more.
You know it is great to have a big family.
We are all so diverse yet so much alike.
Your Dad sure misses his brothers and sisters sometime. (especially at the Holidays)
He often says, "Out of 10 there are only 3 left."
He thinks of the old days and the laughter we all shared just 47 years ago.
No it was only like 30 or so.
Christmas at Grandma McLemores.
Mom, Me stepping out of the car with a pan of rolls in my hands and slipping in the mud with Joann laughing hysterically.
Jim picking Nell up and taking her in the kitchen saying, "Look what Santa left under the tree."
CB Eating the Chicken Neck and Lee just watching the entire scenario.
Mom just enjoying the day with her kids and hoping CB stayed sober.
Robert and Mike wanting to play games, Marilyn, Theresa, Carolyn and the entire brood there.
The little girls all with straight stringy hair and Ken with a head full of curls.
That was always a topic of discussion.
Sometime I miss those days.
But life must move forward. That is the cycle of life.
We laughed more than we ate. If that was possible.
Good Memories.
So as the holiday season approaches Remember those less fortunate than ourselves and those in pain or those that are ill.
Those that travel.
Just pray for peace for everyone
Night Night
