Well it was 35 years ago I was waddling through the house a huge, 135 lbs, My doctor had told me I was beginning to dilate, and it was almost a month until the baby was due. So on the night of the 11th, the ladies in the church gave me a baby shower, They were almost too late. On the 12th We took the boys, then 6 and 3 to town, Wonderworld, and bought the rest of the items we needed for the baby. During those days the doctors could only guess the sex of the baby. We did not care if it was a boy or girl. God had given us one more chance for a baby, From the moment we felt we were having a baby, Dr. Whitehead started injections of Progesterone, At first it was every two weeks but that was not stopping the contractions, so he increased it to every week. For 7 months I had a shot in one hip or the other. Thanks to the care of one Doctor I was able to deliver one more baby.
On December the 13th I woke up knowing I had to get to the hospital, when the doctor checked me he said, I cant afford to send you home so I am keeping you over night and we will see what happens, but I am sure you will be having this baby. The morning of the 14th, one of the nurses stepped in and said "Do you mind of your sister in law is in here with you". I was dumb for a few moments, I remember asking which sister in law, she said, "Francis McLemore". Again I wondered Francis then it clicked she meant LOuellen, she was past due, I immediately said,' Yes bring her in she is my Sister". It was surreal, I had a pain, she had a pain, I moaned she moaned. It was fun too. At noon Dr. W. Said "OK looks like about 5 this afternoon we will deliver", As soon as he had time to leave the hospital I felt sheris head break through, I started yelling, the baby is coming, the baby is coming, The nurses said " NO the Dr. Said later, but I will check you anyway". Well Sheri never did anything the conventional way, she broke her way into the world, early, and like a lady, not making too big a fuss. I kept saying "Is she OK she is not crying" , The staff kept informing me she was fine. They would then go over and thump her foot to make her make some noise, but she only made noise for a little while then back to quiet, again I would ask "Is she OK'. This kept up until they took her to the nursery. Actually my Doctor told them to take her out, He had to hurry up on me as my sister was about to deliver.
I yelled across to the other room, "Hey Louellen I have a girl", I can still hear her happiness as she said, through her pain, " OH a little girl"
She was so happy for me, and then 18 minutes later she delivered a little boy.
Our Doctor thought that day he was God, The staff told me he came back to the office saying, Hey I did it today, I delivered Sue a girl and her sister a boy.
AT that time I had 2 boys and She had 1 boy and 2 girls.
That was a day that still stays on my mind, no matter how forgetful I get. In fact I remember the birth of each of you children, it will always be a moment of great joy in our minds and hearts.
So that is what I was doing December 14, 1970. Can you recall that day?
Charles you and Ken were at Joe and Daisy Whitesides home, They took care of you for us while I was in the hospital. They were like grandparents to you, They called you the little Men,

Non conventional? Me? HAH! LOL I just like to keep people on their toes.
I always think birthday are more about the parents, not the children. I Know on my kids birthday I always do a lot of reminiscing and such, whereas THEY open the presents!
So Happy Day to you two also!
