What did we do?

Today we had breakfast with Dave and Gwena. It was really a nice time to sit back and relax.
Gwena and I have so much in common and are so different. We have the same values and morals and beliefs. That I am so glad of.
We are different in the way we work outside. It get down and dirty, she is clean, In fact I do not believe I have ever seen her with one spot of dirt on her clothing.
Yesterday Clay and Marie came over. We had a fun visit and I made lunch.
Friends are such wonderful accessories in our lives.
I once heard a quote, "Just because a friend is gone from our sight, does not mean he is truly ever gone." I think of that as I think of our friends and leaving them behind.
We have made the most wonderful friends, we have had 40 years with most of them
I think of Viola, She and Coy are gone from our sight, but they are not gone from our memory.
They endeared themselves to us so many years ago, we made so many memories, Time can not erase. They are gone but still here.
When we leave the state, we leave behind many, many friends. Darlene, Marilyn and I had our children at the same times, We went to each others showers, we were there through the death of the parents, we were there through the teen years of our children, we were there through the marriages then the births of grandchildren. Just last year we attended the wedding of one of the grandchildren of the Colosio's.
Yes life has lead us all in different directions but our love and respect and caring has never ceased.
So as we prepare our minds for one more move, our love for these friends and the memories will live in our minds even as our minds become less active. As we become too aged to move as fast as before.
Memories are forever, Make good ones.

A friend is a friend forever is the Lord is the Lord of them.
A friend will not say never and the welcome never ends,
Though it't hard to let you go, In the fathers hands we know,
That a lifetimes not too long to live as friends.
