Catching that draft can make you sail through life, over the mountains and swoop down to fresh water and food. After all if we make it over the mountain, We have Peace in the Valley.
As I watched the special on Planet Earth, Eurasian geese. I was in awe. I thought how much like human nature that could fit us.
As the geese made their winter flight over the Himalayas, They had to time it just right. If they ran into storms they had to turn around and go back. This left them weak and more vulnerable to predators and the lack of strength (from lack of food and fresh water) lessened their chance of reaching the high altitude needed to make the ascent.
However if they caught a warm updraft, They soared upward, no effort required. Their wings just spread out and up they went. Up to the 32000 feet required to fly over the lower Himalayas.
Mount Everest is the Mountain called, The mountain no bird can fly over, I am assuming that is true. Since the highest flying bird does not go that path but takes a lower route.
I often wish I had a warm updraft to carry me up and away, through all the trials and stresses of life. But what would I gain if everything were always easy, always perfect? I would never have need to call on the name of the Lord. I would not appreciate the food and water filled valleys. The Peaceful Valley we all have in our lives. (We have to face obstacles to reach the comfort of a peaceful valley"
In retrospect I do have that updraft, I have the promise of Gods unfailing love and tender care. He will see me over those mountains, those problems I find insurmountable. He will give me rest in the Valley, He will supply all my needs.
