Conversations and Prayers

This is how the conversation went.

Me "Honey I have to ask you something, but you have to promise to not get mad at me."
Him "I can't promise that, What is it?"
Me "NO, not until you promise."
Him "So If I promise and then do get mad, What then?"
Me "Then you are lying to me, and we promised never to lie to each other."

His eyes get buggy, his lips are pursed, and he ask, "So what is it?"
We are both stubborn, I did not want to ask and he was not going to promise.
Finally I said, "Will you ask the neighbor if he can come plow our garden."

NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WILL NOT, He will think we are pest.
That was his answer.

I said "No he wont, Let me explain the day I talked to him, He was working on his fence, A neighbor had just stopped in their car and told him his cow was out. He stopped and talked to me at the mail box. I asked if we could hire him to plow our garden.
He said, "Sure but I won't charge you"
Then we see the cow, (calf) in the road. He heads off to the calf, while saying, "It will be Monday, I am going on vacation after that."
I yell back, "Great Thanks, No Hurry".
Then the rains hit and hit hard, it rained for a week, He was gone. He forgot.
PLEASE Honey do this or we call and hire someone as I am not going to watch you out there with the rotor tiller, Killing yourself.

So the NO softened to him getting up out of his chair, slipping his shoes on and going down.

In case you did not notice, I won that one with Honey.

He was gone for about an hour, and he was glad he went, He really enjoyed the visit with Dennis.
They visited. So while he was gone I made Strawberry Jam.
He came home to fresh hot Jam and biscuits. (Good Bribe.)
Dennis said he would be here on Thursday about 10 Am. At 10 AM Exactly he drove into the garden, He finished at 12. It is absolutely beautiful. Smoothed out and beautiful, It is almost a shame to mess it up with rows. Silly HUH?
So perfect like a fresh snowfall, you almost hate to see footprints across the snow.
So as he worked on the garden I made cinnamon rolls, when done, I dressed for the doctor, drove to their house with Rolls and a jar of Jam.
I met his wife, Tila, Very nice lady, and just like me, she had Dirt from head to toe.
I loved it. Finally another woman that did not mind getting dirty.
As we were visiting I grew a dog head from between my legs. LOL LOL
They have a beautiful Golden Lab, older dog named Maggie. AHHHHHH my Moms name.
Suddenly she pushed her head between my legs and had a toy in her mouth. She wanted to play. I laughed and said, "I did not want to ride a horse."
Tila shushed her away while I stepped over her head.
I had to laugh. I seldom love dogs but this was instant love. She is so adorable.
Maybe it was the name and mannerisms.
I love gentle.

I told Tila our pool was open for their use all summer. I knew they were going to get hot and dirty and relaxing would be just what they need.
They have a lot of work to do there. They bought the Hartman place. They are living in the garage as the house is in too bad shape to live in.
Going to be a show place and working farm.
I finished my doctor visit, (great news, all my blood work is perfect). Now for the cancer doctor in about a week.

Drove home to see David in the garden making rows.
I tell you the rows are so long, about 90 feet. He made one row and about half another.
He came in to eat, and promptly fell asleep. About 5 PM.
I snuck out and mowed around the garden while he snoozed away.
I was out over an hour or so when I became concerned.
He usually wakes up, and walks out to work.
I put the tractor away and walk in to see he is still pink and breathing. I let him sleep there until dark then woke him to shower and get ready for bed.
I had to wake him several times, He kept dozing off. Finally he is showered and back in his chair asleep.
Saturday is going to be a day we may get more done, He is more rested in the morning.

MY Prayer
Dear God let us sell this place so he can rest. I don't care about me, I just see him so tired, I can barely stand it. He says he is fine, we God, you and I, know he feels tired and is not really well. He will be 72 this summer, and although he seems in good health, he hurts every time he lifts or does yard work. Then getting out of his chair is a chore.
Bless his heart, body and soul.
