I drove in to Anderson to the Mower shop. As I walked in an older gentleman looked at me and said,
"She needs a Blah blah blah blah, mower belt, American Made, Sears Craftsman."
I looked at him astounded, Just by looking at the part I had in my hand he knew. He also said, It is not broken but needs a big spring. I have the big spring I told him but I thought this has broken.
NO it had not broken but it had a metal burr on the side and while taking it off I cut my hand several times.
He proceeded to take it back to the shop and take the burr off for me. I thanked him profusely.
His Question to me was, "HOW DID YOU get that off?"
I told him with a lot of sitting on the floor of the garage and kicking at the tractor.
He was surprised that a little woman could do that. He said, "Good Work, Keep on."
Now I have it back on but I can't get the belt over the pulley, I really need a pulley puller?????
Besides that, the other pulley and bracket came off, I noticed it was loose, in fact I said to David, "That seems loose, Doesn't it?" I proceeded to work trying to get the belt on when that part just popped off. Loose? It was not even attached. I guess that came off during the original spring popping off.
I guess I go back to day and show them my new problem,
Some one can help me besides Sears. They are too pricey.
Of course David said, "Call Sears".
He hates to watch me on the floor struggling with a machine.
I rather enjoy figuring it out. Machines amaze me how they work, I know the tractor pretty good now as when we bought it, I thought it was this great thing that required a very knowledgeable mechanic.
Nope just little old me, crawling around on the garage floor, Salty sweat dripping off my face, Filthy dirty hands and a huge sense of accomplishment.
I still may have to call for help, but first I have to give it all I have.
