Clean Your Room

As I read Sheri's blog this morning, I had to laugh.
I had a beautiful memory.
Charles was about 5 or 6 years old.

I walked in one night and told him and Ken to put away the toys.
Toys were everywhere, clothes were not put away.
There was no clear place to walk.
I left the room to the guys.
Soon I was invited back in, and told it was now clean.
As I walked in, Not a toy was in sight.
Now I am Mom so I knew that was TOOOOOOO Fast.
I open the closet, NO, no toys there.
As I turn I see Charles standing by his bed. Arms folded. Biggest eyes you ever saw.
I grinned ( I now knew where the toys were, His eyes always gave him away, He just could NOT keep a secret.)

I bent to look under the bed. There were the toys. All of them, shoved under the bed and Charles was standing Guard.
It was funny, and I walked out laughing.
Now they had to clean that up.

I had to show their Dad first.
Now they had to crawl under the bed to get all the toys.

When they were truly done, a long time later, The toys were in the toy box and all was well, Until Tomorrow.
Now I have no little toys or stinky shoes to put away.
Toys are all gone, Little shoes are not here.
Little toes to kiss and shoes to tie.
Some days I think of that and smile in wonder, Smile that I made it through those wonder years.
They were Wonder-ful.
I did not think so then, but someone told me, "Sue this is the best years of your life, You just don't realize it."
They were right, Now I realize it WAS the best years of my life.
But that is life and life goes on and on. That is the cycle of LOVE.
I Love you All.

Too funny, when we discovered the laundry under the mattress I told the kids about that story (Charles putting the toys under his bed) knowing that my story would remind you of that.
