Story time,
Time to take a deep breath and read of our new experience of being elderly.
David has not felt good for a while. I can always tell when he is pushing past endurance.
On Friday he had to stop at Cost co for medication, As he stepped out of the car he began walking sideways. (I was not there).
He said he finally got his feet right and they were so heavy and he felt horrible.
When he arrived home (I had been on a grocery run to a local market.) and I walked in, I saw the look on his face, Total Sickness.
I asked "Are you OK?" He then told me of his experience. Of course I think STROKE!!!!!!
I run in the bathroom and grab him two aspirins. He takes them then we eat dinner. He eats little. He sets there covering his face, I am again concerned. He was covering burps he said.
OK I buy that one but after 47 years you know the sick signs.
As he finishes dinner I say, "Go take a shower, put on Jammie's and put your feet up, then I will bring you the apple dumpling."
He showers and is in there a long time, Lou, my sis, suggest I check on him.
I walk in, he is on the side of the bed putting his socks on. He is sooooooooo tired.
I take one sock and put it on him.
Then he suddenly lies back, I lean over him with my hands on his chest, looking him in the eyes and feeling great loss as to how to help.
I say, "Hon how do we get this place sold and you stay home, What can we do?"
Suddenly he looks strange. I see his eyes begin to jump. He says "Wait, The room is spinning, I am sick, I am dizzy."
I have never seen eyes jump like that. Literally moving faster side to side then you can imagine.
The eyes scare me, They are moving faster then I thought possible. I call Lou to see, she too thinks it could be a stroke.
I dial 911, They give him a phone test and he passes for stroke possibility.
They send the ambulance and paramedics and First Responders.
He is wheeled out on a gurney. By then he has totally thrown up everything he has eaten for a week. (not really)
Now for the numbers. That was me driving to the hospital to be with him.
Now you all know I stay pretty calm in bad situations. I can handle it well, even make slight jokes. .
So diagnosis, Not a Stroke. He is being treated for Vertigo, exacerbated by sinusitis.
He has had no episodes today, but the doctor warned him of quick movements and it can surprise him when it hits.
No driving, No working, Nothing but pushing the remote control buttons for several days.
He is not handling that well.
He insist he is going to work Monday,
Do I let him? How do I know he is OK to drive? I should drive him if he insist.
Oh well time will tell what to do, I guess. We are in such a quandary lately. Not sure of our next step. We have to make some decisions, some difficult decisions.
Before tomorrow becomes our yesterday.

I'm sorry David is feeling so bad. Bless his heart. It's so hard for most men to give up and not work. My husband is the same way, even after two light strokes. I will be praying for you both.
No real decision. We need to get the house on the market as soon as we can and then you guys have to go whereever you have to to be able to relax. If you have to go to Arkansas or Oklahoma thats what you do your health comes first.
And 5. Glad he's okay.
