I told you the motel stay was a story in itself. Here it is.
Mama looks under beds.
When we travel North we stay at a certain Motel. We never questioned its cleanliness or checked under beds.
HOWEVER on our way home in September, I was already showered and in the bed while the rest took showers.
We had gone to Seattle to pick up Coy and Lou from their Alaskan Cruise.
As we arrived in Cottage Grave, we took the keys to our reserved room.
It was NOT what I expected. The room had no down comforters, it was not really nice.
I mean as nice as we are accustomed to at their motel. It did seem OK at glance.
OK I can handle this.
As I pull the covers back I see a bug carcass in the bed. I sweep it off and say nothing.
I see another one. Again I say nothing. (David would have freaked).
Suddenly I lean over the edge of the bed to look under it.
The guys are laughing at me for my position on the bed.
"Sue What are you doing?"
"Oh Nothing Just looking"
Suddenly I see it, A prophylactic, A used one.
I see, bugs, webs and lots of dirt.
OK now I react.
I jump up and put my shoes on. I walk to the desk in my Jammie's. I tell the clerk what I find. I also ask, Where are my down comforters, I look forward to those, and the luxury of.
She apologizes profusely and immediately moves us to another room.
I walk over to check this one out right NOW.
As I go in I see it is much better, Down comforters and not as MUCH dust under the bed.
It also has a private patio and a gas fireplace.
Now this is more like it. (Did I mention I found a little dog under the bed?) The new room they sent us to. The dog barks and jumps. Of course that shows someone did not bend over to check the underside of the bed. (I kept the dog.)
NO extra charge for a better room.
As I leave the room I head back to tell the guys what I am up to.
It is 10 at night and I am out running around a motel unit.
I see David looking for me. He should be used to this by now.
Remember I have told no one what I found. I did not want to upset David to the point of puking. LOL And he would.
When I return to the room I just tell them to look under my bed.
I hear shrieks and that is filthy. They were aghast.
YEP, then I tell them we are moving. That means packing the cases back in the car, letting Coy know,(he is in the shower) and walking over.
Lou says, "Well I have to redress." I tell her NO I am in Jammie's and it is late, no one will see you anyway. She had on full Jammie's with a duster over it. She looked great.
I have made the long walk already, To the office, to the new room, to the office to accept, and back to our old room. I am getting out of breath. Now I have to make one more trek to the new room and after in the room, I am not moving, except to take another shower.
Seeing that made me feel dirty and with bugs in the bed, who knows?
The cottages are set up far apart. They and the gardens cover 16 acres of gardens with multiple walking paths and cottage like rooms. .
When Lou and I walk into the room, she agrees, this is MUCH better.
The Motel staff were apologetic, and gave us the better room at the lower price.
What happened? This place is usually spotless. I know they have been pretty busy getting the rest of the shops open and It seems the gardens are suffering.
Perhaps the economy has hurt them too.
Will I stay are the Moon stone resorts again?
Yes I will, All in all I Love it there.
I love walking the gardens, I just hope they can afford to keep the gardeners on, Every garden is a wonderland.
So that is one story of our trip in September, Add that one to "Wheres the Beef?" Another post in September. It too is funny.
