OH MY GOSH

We spent two days looking for a house. I am exhausted. One was a half a million dollar Tudor Style. that was just for fun, It was built in 1926. Can you say, Magnificent?????
Then we moved into our price range and saw the exterior of a house that required a waiver to enter It had black mold. (Fannie May called it discoloration) It could be sold , but it required ripping out walls, floors, cabinets, exterior walls and rebuilding the hillside behind it.
It could have been a beautiful home, it sat beside a half million dollar home.
Answer to that one was NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!
We viewed one in Claremore that seemed feasible, But alas, they had animals that left pee puddle spots all over the light carpet, every room was papered in a blue wall paper of different styles, the hot tub surround was rotten, Then last but not least the wood work all around the house was covered in Wood Boring beetles and stink bugs. When I say covered, I mean thousands of them, that only added to the hornet nest on the entry light and the wasp nest (the biggest I ever did see) on the eave of the house.
Again could have been an option but too much would be involved in bringing it up to standards. Yes standards, MY Standards, which is no more than clean, and not being eaten up.
We did find a new brick one, we are hoping for a smaller version, we will be talking to the realtor today or tomorrow.
So in essence the older homes are as expensive as the new ones. This is a fact.
In the words of Grandpa McCoy, "No Brag, (sic LIE) just fact."
