Today as we shopped I was so disappointed. Why? OK here is Why.
ON Tuesday I saw Fiesta ware on sale for Buy one Get one free.
That I was going to do, but my coupon for an extra 10% off did not start until Wednesday. OK I will wait.
So today I called my niece and told her of the bargain, My Sister, Lou and I decided we would buy one place setting a month so the expense would not be so much. (at once)
Today I walk into the store and the signs are gone, No not 50 % off but 30% off, Sorry I will not spend that on something I do not really need. It is just that I am a dish addict.
OK I said it, I am addicted to dishes. I love shapes, colors, textures, patterns, gold or platinum trim, seasonal, antique or new. I just love dishes.
I love to change out my cabinets often so I can feel freshened. Sound weird I know but that is all I am addicted to.
I wonder if they have a Dishes Anonymous club I can join.....
So no Fiesta Ware, at least not just yet.
I have my 10 dollar certificate, I will use it.
I wander around the store. Suddenly I think, I need new house slippers.
I bet I can get a bargain there.
I make my way through the Young Men's, Old Men's, The Shoe Department, and make my way over to the Ladies accessories dept.
Right there on the main aisle I see them, or better yet I see the Name.
Vera Wang!!!!
I pick them up and begin to smile.
David is watching me. He begins to laugh.
I asked. "Why are you laughing?"
He said, "I saw your little smile when you picked them up, I know what you thought."
I said, "Yes You do, I thought of Jeanette."
You see, Jeanette and I had a thing about Vera Wang clothes, shoes or accessories or nightwear.
We searched them out and bought BARGAINS.
The day Chelsea Clinton married, Jeanette called me to tell me "Did you know Chelsea is using our Vera Wang clothes for her wedding, That girl has good taste.?"
Of course I agreed and we had a good conversation about our taste.
Then I asked Jeanette, "Do you think she wore the labels on the outside, so everyone would know it was Vera?"
She said, "Oh Sue, That is something only I do. I am the stylish one."
We laughed and laughed.
So here is the Vera Wang Story with photo attached.
Last Christmas, Jeanette wanted a new outfit. She had not been shopping for a while
I told her about Kohls great bargains. Search out the clearance.
She called me so excited, she had been shopping and bought an entire outfit for less than $20. (after all very few people wear a size 1) She had her choice of the clearance rack.
To the grandchildren Christmas program Jeanette proudly wore her New Outfit .
If you know the brand, you know Vera's Tags are about 4 inches long and blue.
Not to mention the price tags, the care tag, Etc.
They really stand out.
The next day she called me, mortified. She had left the tags on the back of the skirt and under the sleeves of the jacket.
I began laughing and I laughed and laughed.
Through gasps of laughter I said"Do you mean the Big Blue tags?"
She said, "Yes,I am so embarrassed and NO ONE told me, Not Even CW."(her husband).
So to add to her misery I sent her a photo with my new accessories.
Keep In mind I just had two surgeries, No makeup and I felt horrible but I had to make her laugh. So what else could I do? I had to put my new earring (tag) on. We were always doing something like that to make the other laugh.
Again everything I do can remind me of her.
