Speaking of Confused

After 22 years of making schedules and putting in hours, I was late checking out on Sunday.
My schedule was 10:15 to 4:45. Not a big deal.
However I went in on time, Proud of myself for having it together and moving quickly.
Time got away, left my mind, Left me brainless.  I suddenly thought OK I get off at 5:15. So at 4:57, I am pushing my cart back. I see one of my early shift ladies, she is off, apron is off and I am just leaving. Hummmmm.
Maybe she sold out.
Then as I round the corner I see a totally bare area. All carts are clean and put away. Suddenly I realize, "Oh Crap I am late, I was supposed to be out of here at 445. OH My!!!! Chrystal has no patience for stupidity.,
That is exactly what I was stupid. I said, I should write a book on "Brain takes a holiday"
I could not clean my cart, I could not put away stuff, I had to clock out and run.
Now keep in mind I do not mind working off the clock, I have for years. But California law forbids it and I try to be a good employee.
I blew it, I blew it bad. I got 12 minutes over plus nothing was accomplished.
Oh yeah Gary, will take care of my mistakes but I wrote my time in as 457. 12 minutes later than I should be.
I will take my lumps with my error.
Our hours are on 15 minute increments. I have never worked on 15 minute increments and now I must retrain my brain to concentrate.
I know I am a good sales demonstrator. I Love the people I encounter and I love to talk about my product.
However please keep my memory (brain power)  in your prayers.
I detest blowing it as I am a perfectionist and this tortures me to be wrong.
Tomorrow I am writing my schedule on my hand. On my arm, I have a copy in my little sales floor bag. I should be good but my quesiton is, Why did no one come get me? I guess they thought I had been there long enough to know the rules.
Oh I guess not, and I am not happy about my error.

Get a watch and set the alarm to go off 15 minutes before you are off work.

And you know, from years of working, that sometimes people simply forget.Don't beat yourself up over it.

Wait, you can't wear a watch at work, huh.
