Update

We took Smoky to the Vet today. I can describe what happened but to know smoky is to Love him.
First the Kitty Carrier. He was so docile and went in like it was second home.
I gave him treats,
He could not eat them. His poor mouth is so sore.
As we get in the room, I hear little out of him, he is still in his carrier. When the Tech comes in she takes him temp and tells me he is an older cat. ( I know but how old?)
His temp is normal, He behaves nicely. Suddenly he wants to be hidden.

( I thought of Leila  when she wanted to be invisible to everyone except her family (family she knew))
I am holding him down, Gently, He puts his head in the crook of my arm and hides there. It is hilarious.
He thinks the doctor or Tech can not see him.

The diagnosis is a Bad mouth, with abscesses. He has lost weight and is dehydrated.
He is eating Fancy Feast, and we are watching his water dish.
He  is not drinking enough.
Of course we could not put out a lot of money on him, so we opted for an antibiotic shot and water to hydrate him, Not sure how they did it but something about putting it under his coat and his body would use it.

So tonight he seems better. He actually went to the door twice to go outside. The second time he changed his mind as soon as I opened the door.
I have a litter box and everything he needs in here.
Now he has to get better, he has to.

Oh the knot on his neck, She withdrew fluid to see if it was cancerous.

I do not think it is, I think more would have formed  if it were, but we shall see.

Poor baby! I hope he's feeling better soon. He's so old he might get a taste of being inside and never want to go out again...and then you can become a crazy cat lady.

Convenia injections rock. I assume that's what they gave him. And the fluids are subcutaneous under the skin. The body absorbs it, good stuff. Hope he is improving more.
