I want to post something that will lift spirits, Make someone smile, Add brightness to a rather dreary day.
As we shopped one day, about a week ago. We had to approach an escalator.
Me, well I hopped on with David right behind me,
Yes I said, Right behind.
He can not use his right arm for support.
I am up about two steps when I hear a moan or some noise to bring my attention back to him.
I turn and there he is, Holding on with his right and left hand and his body was reclined about a 15 degree angle.
I suddenly ran back to help, the clerk behind was watching.
He had missed the step and was half way on one of the steps and his balance is off.
I see he has pulled his left arm over to the rail to catch himself.
We are both on the right of the escalator.
Sacred the Bee Jee Bees out of me. I thought he was fallinggggggggggg.
He kept saying, I am alright, I am All Right.
He was still off balance. He regains his composure and we continue our shopping.
When I told Ken, he said, "Oh I thought you were going to say he looked lke ELF"
Yeah Love that movie. And that thought really did cross my mind as I snickered later.
As we approach the top, I can see the embarrassment on his sweet face.
I say, "Are you sure you are all Right?"
His answer was "I am fine"
I then said, "I bet you feel like an idiot"
(Sheri got me on the first time and I did say something to David that I DO NOT say in public. Therefore I should not write it either.)
Lord forgive me.
He smiled and said, "Exactly"
Me "Well you are not, accidents happen and I am at fault for going ahead of you. I am so sorry"
Poor guy has to be noticed and to help him is an honor although I do not think sometime.
For example he can not put his coat on, The arms just do not cooperate.
I turn and see him, coat half on half off and a look of "HELP ME" on his face.
We will get this down sooner or later.
In another instance, He wanted to go to work with me and sit at the mall and read. there are lots of chairs and places to eat and relax.
As I arrive at work, I am told, "this is an 8 hour shift"
OH NO I have no way to tell him, I will be late.
I pray for friends to come in to shop.
Suddenly Ron and Darlene show up. I tell them of our dilemma and ask them to relay the message.
Ron asked to take him home. I said,
"That will be nice but ask him, He just may want to stay"
He went home. Whew!!!!! That would have put him in for a long haul.
So isn't it amazing how God just answers prayers just when we feel helpless. I had no other way to tell him to expect 3 more hours in the mall.
We have the best BEST friends in the world.
Now I work tomorrow for a Breaker shift. I look forward to that, and I am going to go in singing.
.( I usually do.)
I want my job to be the influence someone can see how a Christain life is meant to be led.
No profanity, lots smiles and positivityall this comes with trials, but handling them with grace and dignity is all I need
. I will mess up but I know I have a much bigger God than I have problems. Now to just get more of the word out. Most of my coworkers know I go to church and have strong beliefs. That is a blessing..
I just want to let God shine through.
