I wondered if my Boss was mad at me today.
Not really but she put my legs through their paces.
I am not kidding. If you knew how big my store was, You would understand.
To the beginning.
I had a doctor appointment at 9 AM. Yeah Stupid me, I do not like early.
I jumped up, dressed combed my hair and ran out the door.
No coffee.
(You notice we still have no coffee pot, Why? They cost too much and I am broke)
I do not leave my doctors office until 10AM. Oh my and I have not had a bite to eat.
I have to deposit my check, drive swiftly but safely to the bank, 4 or so miles away.
Deposit my check.
I then have to go to Winco to buy Bananas, They ALWAYS have ripe ones.
Right?? Not today.
I buy anyway and pick David up some Danish. He LOVES Danish,( I think more than he loves me)
I then decide to pick up a sausage biscuit for breakfast for us. Carl's Jr has quit serving breakfast by this time. (yeah I drove through there too) I drive on while hankering for a cup of coffee. I am desperate. I try to recall where the coffee shops are.
Suddenly I pull up to Churn Creek and remember a Burger King about a block to my right. I am in the left turn lane.
I quickly move over, safely and make my way to COFFEE.
As I Order the young girl only hears one order, I tell her I need two breakfast and two coffee.
I get to the window, She ask, "Would one fry be OK?"
HUH????
"I mean we have one hash brown, can we serve one with an order of fries?"
I say, "Of course that will be great."
At that point I just wanted my coffee. She was just brewing it fresh for me.
I sit and I sit and I listen to the radio and I am unusually calm.
I complete my order and call David, By now it is 11 AM and I am due at work at 1:15, ( I thought)
"Honey I am on the way home, I am sorry but I am so delayed."
I want to be calm but I must rush.
I rush in, Eat half my breakfast, and give him most of what is left.
I swig down a little coffee, Actually a Lot of coffee, then shower, style my hair, and out the door.
Now to the job and my Day of short legs and short people and enthusiasm.
I get to work and I am scheduled at 1:45. Nothing like being early.
I stroll around and find my people to give breaks too.
They are not on the floor yet. Oh my goodness. Suddenly I see them emerge from the back room with their carts.
Now I go find them, I still have 30 minutes.
1. My first person (Theresa Kay) is at the front of the store, by the entrance, Organics.
2. Second (Phyllis) is all the way back by the butcher shop. ALL THE WAY BACK. Two minute Costco jog.
3. Third (Nancy B) is back to the front of the store again, by organics.
4. Fourth (Sherry) was totally across the store and several aisles. Again 2 minute Costco jog.
5. Fifth (Sweet Sandra) was all the way back by the butcher shop, Again.
Now I get a break, ( 15 minutes) and it takes me two minutes to get to where I need a coffee drink.
I NEED this Latte.
I am three minutes late returning. OH well can not be helped at times.
Now back to the running breaks.
Same scenario.
Yes, same people, same run, same times.
I found it to be a challenge. I love a good challenge.
I failed, if it was a test, I was two minutes late clocking out.
I asked Chrystal, "were you trying to run the fat off my legs today?"
She laughed and said, "I had to make those same runs to stock those people."
I really did not mind.
As I said, It was a challenge but I stopped one time to take a nitro. Just in case.
Just in case the discomfort did not leave.
You know me, I want to Move it, Move it, Move it and sometime I need to Stop it, Stop it, Stop it.
Oh yeah, I am breaker again tomorrow, and I was a breaker yesterday.
That is what you get for being on time, or early or being able to do the "Costco Jog".
Oh by the way, We also have the Costco Shuffle, the Costco Smile, The Costco eye Roll.
One day I will show you, if my legs are more than nubs by then.
Love to All mine and ours.
