Fire and Water

What a weekend we had, When David got home on Friday, we were standing at the sink talking when I saw fire in the field, Bet you can guess his first word, "Did you do that?" I was surprised but not totally. He saw the tractor, which I had used that morning, (while it was cool). The thing he should have noticed it was by the freeway, I was hoping it would burn the entire field but the CDF was too efficient. Some one had thrown a cigarette or a truck threw a spark, I only burned to the ditch, and got our trees, Guess we are doomed to not have trees at the freeway. We give up on that. The fire however, did almost get the house by the freeway, it came to their back door. Literally, they had cactus and it appears to be gone too,
We went out and put out all the sprinklers to cover the orchard and keep the ground wet but it never made it that far.

Next was water, We laughed so much Sunday, we both said how good it felt to really have a long belly laugh.
We were in the pool brushing it down, we thought if we were closer to the sides we could brush it better. Well first I go down, I pop back up, then I go down and I seep swimming backwards, I tell your dad to stand close so I can hold myself down, I grad his suit, I hear him laughing so hard I come up blowing bubbles, We try and try but we recall a movie where a family has a logging business, well one brother is caught under a log with the water rising, so brother number two has to give him mouth to mouth while trying to figure out how to move the logs, The dying brother starts laughing because his brother is kissing him. The other is mad, one is laughing, It was hilarious, and Sad. Needless to say one died laughing.
That was on our minds when trying to go under, I also would stand on his back and he tried to brush but I would see big bubble coming up and know he was laughing under water.
so we had a really good laugh. We also had all our dinner out of our garden, fresh beans, squash and potatoes. Of course we had steak too, it was good good. So that was our weekend, we went no where but Dave and Gwena did come over, looked over the pool and said it was very nice. She did ask us is we were doing all the yard work ourselves. Of course we do, planted everything that is planted. I think people are surprised at the growth here, since it is new construction.

But you all know us, we don't stand still long enough for grass to grow under our feet.
