Did it

I began working on the back yard again today. I was hesitant at first as it was chilly outside, It was not long until my long sleeve shirt came off. ( I had a t shirt on underneath).
I mowed the entire area again, with the mower and grass catcher, I literally picked up an entire cart of grass clippings. I edged the walks. They look good again, After grass growing over the edge, the cool decking to the pool was dark. It will lighten up with the sun, (wonderful California sunshine).
I was very pleased with my work. Just admiring it made me feel rejuvenated. Like a spring day in perfect weather.
I hosed down and used the gas blower to clear off all the walks.
Finally I came in at 2 o'clock and slipped on a BIG T shirt and shorts and sat down, That is where I stayed until I had to begin dinner.
When we finished David fell asleep, I snuck outside to begin again. I sprayed the entire garden area with round up. (again) I saw a patch I had missed mowing at the back of the pool and finished it. I sprayed the rock around the pool to keep grass down.
I was busy as a little ant.
When he woke after about an hour, he came out and mowed the front yard. No edging but that has to be done too.
I have a bit of advice, If you think of buying Violas, Don't do it.
I bought one little 6 inch pot. It now covers my entire planting area at the front porch, at least 30 feet by 5 feet. I hate them. I have cut them down, I had used round up on them and they are now about a foot tall. I am not exaggerating. They are prolific little pest. They seem to spread by a huge root system.
Of course this ground will grow anything.
In other news my Star Gazer lily is over four feet tall. I will post photos as soon as it blooms. It is amazing, I did not know they got that tall. I moved it this year to a new location and I think it loves its new home.
The stalk is like tree strong. and as big around as a small tree. I am anxious to see the flower it produces. I know what I am buying when I make a trip to J&P in Oregon. More Lillie's.

I do enjoy accomplishing things around the house and yard. However this week the house has suffered. That is my chore tomorrow morning. Clean and mop the house.
Davids job is to clean the pool and hot tub.
As I said in previous post,. We have had a lot of wind lately and it keeps filling with leaves and sticks and twigs.
It was perfect earlier this week, today I bet we can get several gallon of leaves out of it.
Oh well, it will soon slow down and we will just get to enjoy the peace and serenity of lying in the pool or on the deck.

So that is my day, a day full of accomplishments. A day I felt like working on my yard.
