HELP On the way.

Wednesday, the 31st. David had the day off with me, We had yard work to complete. I told him as long as he worked I was beside him.
So I planted two grape plants and 18 petunia. I then began mowing with the tractor, I mowed while he Began tilling the garden spot.
Now mind you it is a huge garden spot. I have doubled the size for a big melon patch.
Finally I looked at him, nodded my head and we stopped.
Whew what a day!!! He completed maybe two rows. This chore is going to take a Looooooooooooong time.
On Thursday I walked to the mail box. Our new neighbor was out, I asked him if his tractor had a tiller attachment. He said, "YES" I then asked if I could hire him to plow our garden spot.
He said, Yes but I will do it free. I will till it for you on Monday.
(I think he will have to change the day, it is raining and still dark and cold looking outside.)

Hey you cant beat the price. I have to think of something to do for him and his wife.

For you that know our area, He bought the Hartman Place. You know, where we bought fresh milk about 38 years ago.
He is kind of young, Cute too. Tall, Blond, Muscular.
Here is the story, He has totally rebuilt the barn, It looks so nice. The pasture is clear and re fenced. He has added a solar gate opener to the entrance to the property. I can barely wait to see what he does with the entire place.
He is working the land before he starts on the house. He told us he was going to shove the house down and rebuild.
He seems to be a nice, smiling young man. He always smiles and waves. We have to stop and gawk at the property.
I love the barn, He has painted it red and white. Rebuilt the old milk shed. and painted it to match.
I can only imagine what this place is going to look like.
I wish more in this agricultural area would do the same things. It makes us a farming community again.
OH yes he is raising Red Angus cattle. He plans to run about 18 head.
Nice huh??

That's nice that he is going to help you.

I planted today: 2 asiatic lilies, a new privet, a hosta (We'll see, not sure it will survive where I put it but it's mostly shade) and a grass plant. I have a flat of Mondo Grass to plant. And all of the lilies are coming up and the whatever they were that I got from Aunt Louellen. (I want to say Lilies, but I think that's wrong) I noticed today they are coming up. I have two other plants (Millionaires?) That I should transplant.

What about the ummm...crumb! What are those big orange and yellow plants? Will they come back? I am sure they will but I see no signs of life yet.

The plants you gor from mom out by her drive are Louisiana Lillies. They have a yellow bloom. I am leaving to go get 12 or 15 Lorapeddalums to put around the back porch, have to have something that can take the hot afternoon sun. We hope this works...

Our Cannas are back. should be bloomin in a couple weeks. Our Japanese maple we thought was killed by the freeze is back and healthier looking than ever. Our Northern Sea oats look real nice and the fountain grass should be back real soon. We need to get a bit more color out there this year though.
