Man Is this Garden Real?

Gardening is so much fun? NOT when you are tired to begin with.

In addition the rows are about 119 feet long. Whew long, long rows. I had no idea they were that long when I marked it off, I was just trying to get the most bang for my buck. I did what I intended.

We thought we would rise early, get to work and maybe finish making the rows. Well the rising early was not happening although he got up long before me.
He had the half row finished when I got up and was beginning another one.
I worked a while and thought of the monotony of the job. I walked my self to the garage, took the mower deck off and put the plow on.
NOW I can plow furrows. And I did. They are pretty crooked, but we don't care. No way to get around it, especially when the tractor has a mind of its own.
We know it is tilled deeper than ever as we are pulling up huge rocks. Remember we had that area tilled several times by Dave's tractor Service. He did not till deep enough or break up the soil enough. He did a good job and we had a great garden but depth counts for a lot.
I made three or four more rows on the far side of the garden, There we are planting melons of all kinds, then rows of peas then squash and cucumbers. Then Corn, and more beans, potatoes and more corn.
I am sure I will experiment with more veggies, since I have a great place to plant. It is so wonderfully tilled and deep.
When you walk in the garden, you literally walk in the garden. Sinking to your ankles in the soft dirt.
I can imagine when the water hits it, the ground will be like mush and you will sink up to your knees. That is a good thing.
This evening I cut my potatoes to dry a little before planting them.
I have enough corn to plant lots of rows but I would Love some more, I am thinking of Silver Queen to go with my Bodacious. If I knew Esau corn from Arkansas would do well here I would ask my family to send me half a pound. What do you all think? I called around here and they never heard of it. I would like to plant in shifts so it is not all ready at the same time.
Tomorrow we buy more fertilizer. More seed and lots more plants. Tomato is a necessity.
I will try to get my radish, onion and lettuce in tomorrow or Monday.
Tomorrow it is supposed to rain, Perfect to moisten the ground for planting.
I need to check with Gwena for her request. She probably will want Kale. I may plant turnips as AI need them. David loves them. Okra but only a few as it produces so many and so fast.
Onions I want to raise to hang and dry. I CAN DO IT.
Maybe I will buy some of those Asian radishes, they are white And about a foot long. I bet I can sell them to the restaurants.
Long Beans, The Asians gave them to me and I want to try them. Maybe on the back fence as they are runners.
I just want an all around garden.
Plus I want enough to share with loved ones. Ken and Kris make sure your freezer is ready for lots of corn and beans.
I recall 2 years ago having to sit on the porch and shuck corn, I was so tired of shucking corn but it was on a time line. You must get it at the peak of sweetness or it becomes a little dry and not as sweet.
That is why two or three plantings spaced 2 weeks apart.

So today after working for a couple of hours we sat down under a fruit tree . It was not long before I noticed David was nodding off. I asked if he wanted to call it a day. He was only too happy to end our job for today. We just do not have stamina like we once had. With me it is the biggest surprise. I just never thought I would get to this point.
I hurt all the way through my chest cavity to my back rib cage. Not sure what that is, but it HURTS. Then I see a commercial for fibromyalgia and it hits me, Maybe the doctors are right, I have wide spread inflammation from exertion.
Will I stop? No, I will just take my med on time and deal with it. At least it is not deadly but it just slows me down.
So our garden is going to be BIG this year. I will send photos as soon as it is up and showing life.
(If I can keep the moles, gophers and squirrels out.)
Tonight we soaked in the hot tub for a while to relax us and ease out the soreness.
I think it worked as I am pretty tired right now.
After working in the garden, we came in, showered and went to sleep until about 4 o'clock.
Well I mostly lay there and dozed. I did not feel like I had a nap.

It has been a nice day, We enjoy our time together. We nap together and hot tub together and watch Television together. He is my biggest fan and my biggest hero,
He satisfies all my needs.
I know tomorrow will be better with him at my side.
God Bless All
Sue

I found out Easu is the name of the farm and not the corn. I do not know what brand of corn they plant, but it is AWESOME. I had some cut off the cob Friday night. It was GREAT!!!!!

LOVE YA.
