I recall a lot of Mothers Days. Today I woke and asked David "Where are my little ones with my tray of eggs and toast?"
Charles always walked out to the garden and picked me a rose for the tray. It went into a small vase and dressed the tray perfectly. The children, (with dads help) would get up, make toast, scramble eggs and Make coffee, Then a tray was prepared with the rose, a plate and the juice.
One such day I whispered to David, Make enough for everyone and we will all eat on my bed.
That was such a treat for the kids. They loved it, we laughed and talked for about 30 minutes until time to get ready for church.
Precious Memories.
I sure miss that, especially since we are all alone. We woke today and relived old times.
Are we sad? NO... That is the life cycle. We accept that.
All I can say is enjoy the moments you have, cherish each one, They will make you smile in your elderly years.
(not that we are elderly)
David made reservations for us at a local Bistro but I was asleep at 1230 and our reservation was for 130. I just could not move this old body. He ordered Apple bees ribs and brought them home. That was nice. I could stay in my Jammie's and just relax.
I get so tired of being tired. I want to get moving, some days I can and some days it is impossible.
I know my a$$ is spreading from all this sitting. Oh Well, Ask me do I care?
Yep I do but just not enough to push myself.
OK on to more news.
I hope tomorrow to get a few items planted we have a few rows ready but not sure how to lay the garden out. I may need to buy more potatoes and I know I need more corn, I plan on loads of corn as I have lots of loved ones to share with. I may go locally and buy Silver Queen. That is proven to thrive here.
Ken wants Jalapeno and Banana peppers, I want Bell peppers. He needs Habanero. (HOT)
Eggplant, Kale, Okra and Swiss Chard. squash, zucchini, butternut squash and of course Armenian Cucumbers. So many items but only a couple of each.
We plan on several varieties of melons, Quite a few varieties. Crenshaw, water melon, pumpkin, cantaloupe.
Gonna be a melon summer.
So with that I will close and eat a bite to hold me over until morning.
Hope you all had a marvelous mothers day.
