The Lords Prayer

For I cried out to him for help, praising him as I spoke.
--Psalm 66:17, NLT
He wants our praise, Even in times of trials and our crying for help.
Think of the Lords Prayer,
Our Father who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be thy name,
They kingdom come, thy will be done,
On earth as it is in Heaven,
Give us this day our daily bread,
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from Evil,
For thine is the kingdom and the power
And the glory forever
Amen.
He taught us to pray, first we praise him and adore him, then we ask for our needs and then give all the glory back to him.
Isn't that an amazing prayer?
Often we kneel (who am I kidding) we pray as if in a drive through.
Oh Lord today I will have to ask for help with these bills, or these pains, but what is the cost now? OK I pay at the first window.
Well the price was already paid, All we have to do is ask, even though he knows our needs before we do.
Our prayers are Quick and on the go. Never time to just talk to the Lord.
We ask for what we want then run on about our daily task, Never stopping to praise him and glorify him.
Dear God never let me be found wanting in your will. I want to serve and praise you daily.
But today I need healing for my salivary glands, I do not want to see another doctor for maybe yet another surgery.
I am not physically up to it. But you know that, you are beside me always.
I didn't come here to ask you for anything
I just came to talk with you Lord.
You answered a million prayers or more,
that I forgot to thank you for,
I just came to talk with your Lord.
Maybe tomorrow, there will be trouble and sorrow
And a thousand teardrops may fall,
But until I face tomorrows task,
I have not special favor to ask
I just came to talk with you Lord.
Lord let me spend time with you, on my knees, just thanking you for your blessings, The Many blessings you have bestowed on my family.
On my knees as in bowing down to your majestic presence. In awe and wonder of your glory.
