I would love to list 10 things I am thankful for.
Today as we ate, or was that Yesterday?
We each said something we were thankful for.
As it turned out we were all thankful for the same things, God, Food, and Family.
So that is three.
1. God
2. Food
3. Family
4. Being able to laugh until it hurts.
Today as we sat around the table talking about things we used to do or could do to fool the brain.
We began laughing at our own inabilities to control our brains.
For example Evan could pat his tummy and rub his head at the same time but when he switched he could not.
He laughed and laughed. (love his laughter).
We then discussed having short tongues. (Ken brought that up, His dads short tongue.)
So again Evan began sticking his tongue out and trying to touch his nose, the back of his head, ETC. It was funny.
But then Papaw said, "I can stick out my tongue and touch my nose,"
He showed us, or tried to.
(We all know his tongue barely comes out of his mouth.)
He promptly stuck out his tongue and stuck his finger to his glasses,
(he missed his nose)
He covered it up by saying, "I touched the side of my nose."
"Well" I said, Between fits of laughter. "You would never pass a sobriety test."
Ken and I laughed and laughed.
Kens comment, "I don't know how he missed something that big."
In fact I laughed about it while in town, while typing it and I am sure I wont let him live it down.
When David got irritated at me for laughing I told him, "Ken said, "he knew that would give me my laugh of the day."
Announcement!!!
Kris now wears glasses.
While eating Turkey dinner. Her glasses were placed on the top of her head.
Ken asked her "Where are your glasses now?"
She said, "I put them up there because the food looks better without my glasses."
HUH????
Again Roaring laughter.
Of course she said that is not what she meant. But we all know when you say it.
It is what you mean!!!!
NOW I have to add that to my list of personal improvements.
Learn to cook better looking food.
5. Kian is a muscle man.
Really I think he should begin lifting weights. He can't walk but he can push tables, stereos, and chairs all over the house.
He literally got beside my stereo with only inches to work in and used sheer arm strength to move the stereo over.
He pushed my huge end tables away from the wall. They are solid wood.
Yes that is good to be thankful for.
I saw him take an item in one hand, and pull himself across the floor with the other, to hand the item to Evan.
6. Got one set of my Fiesta Ware. LOL Thankful for coupons.
7. Thankful life has been good to us.
8. Thankful for my DIL's and SIL.
Have to think of reasons for that one.
Kidding.
9.Thankful I can be thankful and know all good gifts come from the Father above.
10.Thankful for Life and Happiness.
This morning Ken and Kris went shopping,
AT (DARK THIRTY) AM!!!
That is South-ern for EARLY.
Black Friday!!!!
We kept the kids.
At 3:30 I heard the alarm go off, I got up. No one was up so I thought, "OH I guess they will wait until it is later."
Nope the second alarm went off.
I get up, give Ken the keys to my car, debit card for gas and crawl in the bed with the two babies, (Kian and Leila).
As soon as they drive away, Kian wakes and begins fussing.
It has been LOT Of years since I was up with a baby. Making bottles, ETC.
I take him with me to the kitchen, He is on my hip, I am making a bottle, holding him and dipping formula.
He is a chunk.
He would start slipping off my hip. I would pull him back up.
I bet that happened about 5 times before the bottle was prepped.
He just watched me. While I cooed to him and talked softly to keep him calm.
(I am sure he wondered if that old woman was going to drop him).
I walked back to the bed, Handed him his bottle and held him in my arms for a few minutes. I then listened as he enjoyed the warm milk.
That is when the memories flooded back of my children, Loving the warm touch and warm milk and going ummm at each suck on the bottle.
That was perfect peace.
He fell asleep with an empty bottle between us.
All Was Well In His World.
Later David got up to check on everyone. He went through the rooms counting.
When he came to my room, he saw Kian and myself.
He did not see Leila, He looked again, At the foot of the bed he saw something.
He said, "It looked like a doll laying there. I reached over to touch her and I felt a warm body and realized it was Leila, she looked like a doll lying buried in that comforter.
(see attached photo)
So much to be thankful for, It is impossible to list them all.
These are just a few of my favorite things.
