I know you want to know how I spend my time. Right?
Well today, I strip our bed, get his bed ready for tomorrow night. Cook a nice meal, Make sure everything is up to par and ready for a sick man.
It has been a lot of years since I had to take care of him, Last time was when he had Gall stones and that was in the early 1970's.
When I think of that, I think of Jeanette telling me I was so mean.
OK I was not mean, but his burps were awful, stinky and loud.
So one day we are in town and he burped. Jeanette was in the car, I said, "Honey if anyone bugs you, Just burp on them and they will run away"
Jeanette and I laughed and laughed.
One night I found him on the floor on his knees bent in half groaning. He was still refusing to go to the doctor. I am sorry but I do have a strange sense of humor, to see a 200 lb man groaning and on his knees was kind of funny.
Shortly thereafter he went to his doctor and had surgery.
So I took care of him and now I get to do it again.
In 1968 I took care of him when his arm was operated on, and 2 steel plates were put in.
Vi Yarbrough remade his shirts for me, They had to button on the upper sleeve. I had not thought of that in years but she was a treasure to me. I was only 21 at the time and had no idea how to remake a shirt.
This time I may remake some t shirts for him, If we can figure it out when he gets home. Lou said, use the jersey shirts. Well guess what, He could not get one on last night and his arm is still out of use. Not sure about anything as of yet.
I tell everyone when he puts his pull over on, He sneaks up on it. He really does.
He grabs the shirt, rolls it up with both hands, puts each arm in and quickly bends his neck and jerks it on. I tell him, there will be none of that after surgery as his arm will NOT be used in any way.
So now it is up to me to make sure he has clothes to wear.
Pull on sweats, Jammie's etc.
Right now I am defrosting the freezer.( So I can tell what I have in there to eat.) Some are so freezer burned I must pitch it and some are fine. I never know what to buy any more to cook and eat. I thinka lot of salads and veggies are in order for the coming weeks. I do not want him sitting here putting on weight.
He has already gained ten pounds from June until now by doing very little.
Not complaining but I know him, He will be upset if he can not get into this clothes.
OK that is my day so far. I have pulled out 4 o'clocks as they are now woody, I have saved lots of seed. I have defrosted the freezer AND NOW I get to vacuum and mop. Then all Done. YEA!!!
4 o'clock will come early tomorrow. He has to be at Mercy at 5:30. Long day ahead.
