Great Church

As we were driving in today. I looked at David, His arm in a sling, and remembered 45 years ago.
March 1967 he had his arm in a sling only then it was the left arm.
I had so many memories and we began discussing how the conversations went then. Conversations from our pastor. Orders from our pastor.
Today it is quite different for us. We learned and we learned the hard way.

A good Shepherd Leads his Sheep,He does NOT drive them.
At that point in our lives we were like the words of this  poem.

A Psalm  of Life by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

Art is long, and Time is fleeting,
And our hearts, though stout and brave,
Still, like muffled drums, are beating
Funeral marches to the grave.

In the world's broad field of battle,
In the bivouac of Life,
Be not like dumb, driven cattle!
Be a hero in the strife!

Trust no Future, howe'er pleasant!
Let the dead Past bury its dead!
Act, - act in the living Present!
Heart within, and God o'erhead!

We were the dumb driven cattle.
We feel bad for the things we did not know and  how we thought it was all Gods will that we stay where planted.
Bloom where you are planted!!!
But you can not bloom if you are given no rain, no fertilize or no sunshine.
We needed fed and I guess we were waiting for the meal to come to us. It took us 10 years to learn to move on our own.
Just get up and GO!!
Trust No one but God for directions.
Heart within and God o'er head.
So as we sat to listen, the Preacher actually touched on every subject we had discussed  a few minutes before.
I looked at Darlene and said, "He stole my sermon"
Isn't it amazing how God can put something on your heart, only to have it verified by his word?
I love when that happens, It only signifies to me that I am in the right frame of mind for God to help me. Too many times we want to help ourselves but truth is We can't, Only God can.
