I have known for a while my Grandson is thinking of the ministry, The MINISTRY!!
Can I scream out those words???
Dave and I are so proud and so scared (scared is not the proper word) and so in awe of Gods power in our lives.
We have ALWAYS know Dylan would do something in the ministry. As a little boy about 4 years old he told his Mom. "Some day I want to be one of those people that stand in front and talk about God"
I can only say, I wish Papaw Dave were here to hear this. He also stated many time, "That boy is so unique. He has a heart of Gold and the attitude of an adult."
But Papaw Dave can be celebrating in Heaven.
He has always been gentle, kind, considerate and thought logically of others. He always tried to find the best and work on that in his dealings with other youth.
He will be a Great Role Model.
So Back to our conversation,
Last night he told me , Officially, " Mamaw I am going into the ministry, Youth Ministry and Missions"
Wow!!!!!
He is already thinking of Nicaragua next summer. We are behind him in this endeavor.
We can already imagine his heart when he sees the dirt huts, thatched roofs, children hungry and lack of material things in their lives, Even lack of necessary things.
Necessary things like , medical care, food and clean water, simple things like paper and pencil.
His eyes will be opened to a new world, one he can only hear of.
But he will be there to work with them on Gods calling in his life.
You know, God does not come and stand in your face and say, "You are called"
No it is not that simple, You feel it in your heart, Your spirit, Your very being calls out for more of his word.
He does not always call the qualified, (seminary trained etc.)
He Qualifies the called.
So with that one, Dylan we are so proud of you. So Proud of your choice in life. Yes it is OK to be proud and proclaim it.
We are just as proud of all our grandchildren, only difference is this one is making a step to Gods calling. God can call us in many ways, many things, But mostly he wants us to have a heart for the lost and lonely, the widows, the orphans, the needy, All These and more.
